AI assistants have a big advantage over static web pages: They enable users to enter into dialogue with your company. Now you can not only communicate your content, but also interact directly with your users. This means you can answer your users' questions directly or even help them find the right product. To do this, you have to connect your existing data to your chatbot so that it can provide information about you and your products in a dialogue. How can we now bring the products and the knowledge about them into the bot?

First of all we define which types of products or things we have that we want to display in the bot. As an example we want to choose the topic planets. The objects in our example are the planets like Mars, Venus and Earth. Each content object has a unique ID, name and attributes. The attributes are properties of the objects that describe them in more detail, like in our case the weight of the planet or the number of its moons. We can then use these attributes in the search as criteria to narrow down the search result (e.g. I only search for planets with at least three moons).

Now, if we have static content that does not change regularly, we have two ways to get the data into the bot. One is to upload a JSON file to the platform, the format of which is described here. The second way is to use the Google Spreadsheet template in the content area of the platform to bring in your data
